to whatever issues you are currently dealing with. The reason I say that is because we know more about ourselves and our motivations more than we admit, we are more capable than we admit, we are more powerful than we admit, we are more loving and loveable than we admit. And that knowing is within you. Not outside of you.

I remember when I was suffering from depression that I would frantically read any self-help and depression book I could get my hands on. And though the books gave me ideas or led me to different ways of looking at things, none of them “cured” me, or brought anything but temporary relief. The only book that made a permanent “dent” in my depression was A Course in Miracles (and its still helpful after 10 years).

I came to understand that I already knew why I was depressed (I didn’t need a doctor to tell me why). I already knew that I had to control and change my inner thoughts and feelings (no one else was doing my thinking or feeling for me). I already knew that I could heal myself by stopping all my self-destructive thoughts and behaviors (no one was forcing me to be depressed or be that way). I was my own answer to my questions.

{I also had a life-changing dream of a spiritual nature, but that’s a story for another post.}

Anyhow, I’m not saying to stop searching for help or answers outside yourself…what I’m saying is that if you go deep enough within you and rediscover that beautiful soul at your center, if you listen in stillness for the gentle voice that whispers “you are Love and Loved eternally”, if you take charge of your thoughts and don’t let negativity and darkness into them, if you allow yourself to be the empowered person you are, if you shine the Light you are……well, then you’ll come to your inner knowing, come to healing, come to peace and joy, come into a new way of being and living. In every moment you’ll always be able to connect to that sacred, solid and unbreakable part of you….which is really all of you, who you truly are.

You ARE the answer…and you ARE Love and Loved Eternally!
